Swing on POP
I’m all into 20′s, 30′s and 40′s pre-swing/swing era music. Just because I dance. Just because I jiterbug. Just because I lindyhop. Since lindyhop revival wave back in 80′s till present day there’s always been to camps of “music used to lindyhop”. One (to which I believe I do belong) – people who love old original swing music – be it a big band, be it a small band, be it even nowadays New Orleans street jazz band. It swings, it smells lindyhop and it smells authentic spirit of times we adore.
The second group -”new age kids” – shaking to “any music”. It’s okay. I love the freedom of choice. Although I don’t call it lindyhop. It doesn’t swing and (what’s even more important for me) – it doesn’t feel like lindyhop. Although You try to use and change original steps and moves to the sound You’re hearing… Yep, everyone “kind of” love and hate “worst lindyhop song contest/evening” hosted by Mark in Herrang Dance Camp. I myself (not always in sober state of my mind) end up freaking all over the dance flour
. Crazy experience, I must say. Tryin’ to lindyhop to Madonna, RedHotChillyPeps or some even more exotic stuff.
Anyway. I guess, some crazy tech geeks were missing that swing feeling in pop music so desperately, that they dedicated a fear amount of time and ended up with some Code which alters “Your favorite song” by adding some kind of swing feeling
. Judge by yourselves:
